Who and what I teach
Not all drum lessons and drum teachers are the same. These are my focuses.
Age Ranges and Ability

While I do teach younger players, my main focus is on more experienced players.

I generally wouldn't recommend lessons for those of under 12, but there are always exceptions to the rule.

Some of my students are complete beginners, some are very experienced, but most have dabbled with drumming over the years and want to venture further.

So whatever your experience or ability, lets see how we can get you playing better.

One thing I don't do is teach the 'Grades', as I personally don't feel they benefit anyone, apart from the exam board.
Specialities

Many students have come to me who had lessons many years ago (sometimes decades), but never really felt they reached their potential.

I have found that many players don't know WHY they do things. I feel it is my job to explain why some things work, other things don't, and how you can make a difference to your playing just by changing how you think about it.

My personal specialised area is technology, so if you need it we can look at how music technology could help you as a player, whether for practice, live playing or studio recording.

Your Needs

My aim is not to completely re-teach you how to play. Rather, I want to build on everything you already have, polish it, and make each bit much better. At the same time I'm going to fill in the gaps of your knowledge, and make things link up.

Some people just want a top-up lesson, some just want some aspect of their playing to be honed. Whatever it is, call me and lets see what we can do for you.

If you are a parent and you want to sit in on lessons then that is absolutely fine.
